Garnet Joseph Wolseley (June 4, 1833 - March 25, 1913), 1st Viscount Wolseley, was a British field marshal. He led the British relief army that came to counter the Siege of Khartoum, but he arrived too late, in January 1885, to avoid the massacre of the starving besieged. 4 manuscript pages, 17.7 x 11.3 cm. We enclose a French translation on an old sheet.

General Lord Welseley presents his compliments to Mr Eugène Belleroche, who is interested in the history of Harlborough, and lives at 65 Rue de Stassart in Brussels (Ixelles). He indicates to be in the Mediterranean until May 15th. However, if you would kindly write me a short message, care of our Embassy in Constantinople until December 12.
